My GRE Files (46 kB)
These are my GRE files, compressed into a single zip archive. These were the result of the experience gathered in six months of dedicated preparation for the GRE. Though most people will take me seriously only because I got a perfect score (1600/1600), and that has been responsible for the popularity of this material on the IIT Madras campus, I believe this contains tips and methods that anyone who has prepared sincerely can come up with. I wrote much of this while I was still preparing, because I knew the enthusiasm to put down good advice would desert me the moment the test was done with. The rest of it is culled out of mails I wrote to my friends who took the test after me, and suitably edited. In the archive, you will find:
Some general advice on how to draw out your preparation map, and the material to use. A gigantic Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that places most of the 3500 words in the Barron's guide in categories that describe the general semantic field that I used to place them in, in order to remember better what they meant. A README that describes how to use the spreadsheet. A list of errors that it is common to make in the Quantitative Section, especially if you happen to be Indian and assume these problems are trivial. Granted, they're exceedingly easy, but sometimes they test subtleties which our lightning methods may breakdown in the face of.

The First Issue of the Shaastra 2003 Newsletter (131 kB)
The Second Issue of the Shaastra 2003 Newsletter (120 kB)
The Last Issue of the Shaastra 2003 Newsletter (171 kB)
These are the four issues, in PDF format, of the Shaastra 2003 Daily Newsletter, released in October 2003. My fellow coordinator was Pradeep Suresh.
Arming an Unshielded Mind - The Audio of My Speech at Reflections (34.2 MB)
This is a zip archive of the audio of my speech at Reflections in IIT Madras, on 11th March 2004. This was the first time that a student gave a full length lecture in the CLT of IITM. The archive consists of 5 MP3 files in radio quality (64kbps, 22kHz). A transcript of this speech is available on the Other Writings from IIT Madras section of the Written Works page of this website. I would like to mention that any factual errors or oversight in the speech have been duly noted and corrected in the transcript.
Right Now - Godavari Hostel Night 2004 Video (61.4 MB)
This is my maiden filmmaking effort. Inspired by the music video of the song Right Now by Van Halen, this video is about the entire batch of seniors of Godavari Hostel IIT Madras, 2003-04. The video was screened on 8th April 2004 and has since become immensely popular in IIT Madras, as well as some circles in other IITs. This is the version of the video that I intend for wider circulation, with opening titles and end credits, and a message for the audience. The original video had no such embellishments. This file is in AVI format and was encoded with DivX Codec 6.4. The film was originally shot on a Sony Cybershot Digital Camera at 640x480 in MPEG format. I share the main credit for this video with Rajesh Kumar P. and Shivaji M.
