(May 8th 1996)
Alone at home I wondered, I knew
the day was mine,
"Just go around a-wandering, and
return in time to dine."
Out of the house I stepped, out I
went for a stroll,
Through the woods and the country,
upto the waterhole.
The cascade crashed upon the
rocks, sending off a pearl white spray,
Wetting me sometimes, sometimes the
oak tree grey.
For two hours I sat there, and then
another hour,
Before I set off again, towards the
meadows afar.
The breeze was humming a tune,
the air was a perfumed cloak
Which the lush green meadows wore.
The birds and animals spoke
To me, and me to them, and they
shared my lunch too.
I slept and then arose, but alas! It
was time for 'Adieu'.
Back on my way I started, and
retraced my own path,
And met my friend the oak tree,
which was enjoying its long bath.
Walking back home I wondered, the
day indeed was mine -
And I returned home from my
wandering, just in time to dine.
(Sometime in 1997)
Alone at home I wondered, I knew
the day was mine,
I thought I'd go a-wandering, and
return in time to dine.
Out of the house I stepped, and off
I went for a stroll,
Through the woods and the country,
upto the waterhole.
The cascade crashed upon the
rocks, sending off a pearl white spray,
Wetting me sometimes, sometimes the
oak tree grey.
For two long hours I sat there, and
then a longer hour,
Before my feet got working again, to
reach the meadows afar.
The breeze was humming some tune
unknown; the air was a perfumed cloak
Which the lush green meadows wore.
The birds so seemingly spoke
To me, and me to them, and they
shared my lunch too.
I slept and then awoke, to see the
sky a darker blue.
So back on my way I started, and
retraced my own path,
To see my friend the oak tree, still
enjoying its endless bath.
Walking back home I wondered, the
day indeed was mine -
And I returned home from my
wandering, just in time to dine.
